Uruguayan tenor Martín Nusspaumer, a graduate of the Florida Grand Opera’s Young Artist Program, has been praised by the press for “his stunning control of diction and intonation, phrasing, and deeply emotional delivery.” “Nusspaumer’s singing was excellent throughout, virile and showcasing a heroic tenor with clarion top notes.”
Nusspaumer has been a soloist with the Miami Symphony, the Charleston Symphony, Ankara’s Presidential Symphony Orchestra, the Odessa Philharmonic, the Philharmonic of Montevideo, the Istanbul Symphony Orchestra among others.
He has sung the leading roles in “La Boheme”, “La Traviata”, “Lucia di Lammermoor”, “Madama Butterfly”, “Carmen”, “Luisa Fernanda”, “Eugene Onegin”, “La battaglia di Legnano”, “Don Giovanni”, “Thais”, “Nabucco”, “Falstaff”, “L’Elisir d’Amore”, with companies such as Florida Grand Opera, Sarasota Opera, Vero Beach Opera, Teatro Campoamor, ABAO (Bilbao), Teatro de la Zarzuela in Spain, Teatro Solis and SODRE in Uruguay.
He recently appeared as Leonardo in a new production of “Cecilia Valdés” at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, Spain, returned to Teatro Campoamor in Oviedo, Spain as Prince Sergio in “Katiuska”, returned to Vero Beach Opera as Rodolfo in “La boheme”, Miami Lyric Opera as Edgardo in “Lucia di Lammermoor” and Opera Naples as Pinkerton in “Madama Butterfly”.
