About the Concert
The entire history of music is filled with passing on what we love to the next generation—putting great music in the hands of tomorrow’s music makers, and letting them make it their own. Four outstanding undergraduate conducting students from across the country will have the opportunity to showcase their talent with the world-class Symphony of the Americas, performing a program of American classical and popular works for string orchestra.
After a competitive application process, a panel of three guest judges and the audience, serving as the fourth judge, will help The Symphony select its first-ever Conducting Competition winner, who will receive a cash prize and the opportunity to perform in the following season, mentored by Luke. Don’t miss the chance to hear great American music performed by the next generation of conductors—and help us Pass the Baton!
